Florida / Miami Marlins Uniform History


The expansion Florida Marlins begin play in 1993.

Florida Marlins

1993-95

Classic 90's teal and black colorway. Both a home jersey and home vest, worn with a teal undershirt, are used. Black alternate cap used occasionally.

MLB 125th anniversary patch worn in 1994.

Black cap takes over as main home cap.

1996-2001

Home vest is now worn with a black undershirt. Teal caps are retired.

Jackie Robinson patch used in 1997.

2002

Nameplates removed.

2003-06

On home jersey, pinstripes change to black. Home and road jersey wordmark and lettering changes to black with silver and teal trim (and white on the road jersey), and the road wordmark is now underlined. Home vest is dropped, and a new alternate home jersey with the "F" logo on the chest debuts. Road jersey wordmark changes to script. And, a new black alternate debuts.

10th anniverary patch worn in 2003.

2003 World Series Champions patch worn in 2004.

2007-09

Cool Base jerseys debut with the black alternate.

1997 World Series 10th anniversary patch worn in 2007.

2010-11

"Marlins" replaces "Florida" on road jersey. Sleeve logo is dropped. Alternate home pinstriped jersey is dropped.

Miami Marlins

2012

The team changes its name to Miami Marlins and its main colors to orange and black. Orange alternate worn just at home, black home and road.

Orange jersey is worn once in 2012. Orange cap is worn twice, both at home in 2012.

2013-14

Road grey is dropped, black or orange is worn on the road. Orange cap is dropped, BP cap used a few times.

Road grey is worn at the 2014 All Star game only. Orange cap returns for 2 home games.

2015

Road grey returns, orange jersey now used just at home, black both home and road. Orange and BP caps dropped.

2016-present

Flex Base jerseys debut.
